Enjoying the sunshine while it lasts! 😎 Wearing Enjoying the sunshine while it lasts! 😎 Wearing a #memade #simplicityk8384 dress in gorgeous viscose fans fabrics from @fabricgodmother (this fabric is from about 5 years ago and no longer in stock)
I’m also wearing a rtw cardigan that has been beautifully embroidered for my by the amazing @rachaelknight80 😘 featuring a tape measure and scissors ✂️ on one side and hand knitting🧶 on the other side. I’ll need to take more pics of this cardigan to show off the stitching
❤️
And I also made my shoes! More details on these on my grid.
Wearing leggings under my dress as I don’t trust that south westerly breeze!!

I’m trying to stick to my #memademay pledge and I’m trying to stick to my #memademay pledge and sort out my wardrobe… 😩
I’ve mounded up the clothes to get rid of and now I’m working my way through the ‘unsure’ pile.
Do I keep it? Can I use the fabric for something else? Or should it go?
I made this #kielowrapdress quite a while ago but have never worn it. I can’t decide if I like it. The fabric is a beautifully soft (possibly modal) jersey from @fabricgodmother circa 2015 I think!
I’ve made a few of these wrap dresses but this is the first with sleeves and the first in a plain fabric.
I decided to add a fab necklace made from @yellowbearwares to make the outfit more interesting. I think the necklace is the best thing 🧶❤️
Any thoughts?? Jury’s still out on this one…

Happy #memademay 😀✂️🧵🪡 I’m calling Happy #memademay
😀✂️🧵🪡
I’m calling this day 1.
I’m wearing the #DavenportDress from @fridaypatterncompany made from cotton poplin that’s been in my #FabricStash for about 8 years!
I lengthened the sleeves by 5cm and cut the largest size length for the bodice and skirt, adding approx 3cm to both as #sewingtall
I can’t decide if this dress is a win or a fail… I love working with cotton poplin but I don’t like wearing it. It doesn’t move how I’d like it too - It’s too noisy and crunchy! 😂 I love the style of this dress but think it would be better in a double gauze or viscose… hopefully this dress will get some wear 🤞
I wasn’t planning to take part in #memademay this year as I’m pretty rubbish at sticking to my pledge… but maybe this year will be different 🤞
What I really need to do during #memademay2022 is to sort out my wardrobe! 😃😩
I’m pretty sure there’s stuff in there that’s never been worn, barely worn or ill fitting. I’ve been hoarding old jeans (perfectly good pairs) for the last 10 years hoping that one day I might fit into them again… There’s also a growing collection of items that need fixing or refashioning that are distributed along the bottom of the wardrobe and in the corner of the sewing room.
So I will try to:
1. Pull out clothes that I no longer wear or no longer fit. Make a plan to reuse the fabric, refashion the garment or donate to charity.
2. Resist the urge to buy any more fabric or patterns! (Very hard when you work in a fabric shop!!)
3. Use fabric from the sewing room fabric mountain to create some well needed clothing items that will be worn.
I’ve possibly given myself too much work… help! @sozoblog 🤣
